Degrees of Incarceration
59 minutes
MiniDV
The documentary Degrees of Incarceration explores how a community of Palestinian refugees in Aida Camp, the West Bank, copes with the effects of political prison. Old and young respond with creativity and determination to manage the toll imprisonment takes on them all. Parents make arduous journeys to visit imprisoned sons. Children cradle pictures of their imprisoned parents in a procession, while their parents stage protests inside. As a new generation faces arrests for protesting against the building of the separation wall, a youth center led by former political prisoners produces a play about interrogation in case youth are arrested. Will these youth have the same experiences as the older generation?
